Botox
If you have wrinkles on your forehead, between your eyes, or crow’s feet around your eyes, you may be a candidate for our Botox treatment. For wrinkles in any area where there is not a muscle or areas where the wrinkle is present when the muscle is at rest, then Botox is not a good option. There has to be a muscle movement causing the wrinkle, line or fold for Botox to be effective. Botox also works for blocking sweat glands in cases of profuse sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Botox is for wrinkles caused by the use of facial muscles, such as:

  • the lines between the eyes (caused by muscles for squinting, glaring or frowning)
  • crows feet (caused by squinting, laughing, crying)
  • or the forehead (caused by a number of animated facial expressions).

Dysport
Dysport is a neuromodulator similar to Botox and Xeomin used to soften and prevent dynamic wrinkles. As we age, our skin produces less collagen and elastin, which leads to less elastic skin that doesn’t bounce back as easily from wrinkle-causing facial expressions. Over time, wrinkles will become deeper, which can detract from a person’s natural beauty and make him or her appear older. Dysport can help soften these wrinkles and bring back a more youthful appearance. Dr. Chopra at Chantilly Plastic Surgery is skilled at injecting Dysport for the best, most natural results possible.

Xeomin
Xeomin® is often chosen to address frown lines due to its efficacy and convenience. Benefits of Xeomin® include:

Lip Flip
To perform a lip flip, Dr. Chopra will make a series of injections just above the upper lip. Botox temporarily relaxes the part of the muscle over the upper lip, causing the lip to roll slightly upward so it appears more plumped and defined. This muscle relaxation can also help smooth vertical lines around the lips.

Botox isn’t a substitute for lip fillers. Lip filler is actually the best option if you’re looking for fuller lips that last a bit longer.

Recovery
Side effects of a lip flip may include inability to drink through a straw or whistle. The symptoms will subside as botox wears off.
